Photographic exhibition by Caroline Cieslik. Over a span of ten years, the photographer and researcher documented the evolution of the Saint-Martin meadows, an urban wasteland in the heart of the city of Rennes.
Political, environmental, poetic, and societal issues converge through the study of the future of these few hectares of land. This research and creative work brings together several hundred photographs and the meticulous development of a theoretical and historical research on this subject. The project questions the status and place of wastelands in our society from social, ecological, political, and aesthetic perspectives. The exhibition is part of the publication of a monograph by GwinZegal, stemming from a doctoral thesis in Aesthetics labeled research-creation (laboratory History and Critique of the Arts - University of Rennes 2 under the direction of Pierre-Henry Frangne). Opening: Wednesday, March 25, 6 PM at La Chambre claire.
