Pionra

Word of mouth — among your own.

Here, you find what you need. Real addresses, paperwork explained, lived experience, official sources. A platform of factual guides where information flows between people who share something — a language, a city, a life situation, a profession, a passion.

Our mission

Keep useful information flowing among people who share something.

When you have a concrete question — where to eat well in Lyon, how to renew a license, where to walk your dog in Bordeaux, how to save on taxes, what second-hand camera gear to buy — the best answer comes from someone who's already done it.

A community is any group that shares something. A language, a neighborhood, a life stage (new parent, student, freelancer), a profession, a passion. You decide for yourself what links you to others — and you find guides useful to all those communities in one place.

Pionra gathers those guides in an organized place: findable, sourced, factual — instead of scattered across Reddit, Facebook, or WhatsApp where the good answers get lost.

We're building this for the long term: serious moderation, privacy respected, GDPR from day one, and no rage-bait algorithm that rewards noise.

Where we're going

Densify both guides and communities: more cities, more topics, more languages, more tools — wherever people are looking for concrete answers and want to share their own.

6 to 12 months

More factual guides per topic and per city, more filters to find things fast, more useful tools (calculators, translations of administrative terms).

1 to 2 years

Communities that form around what links you to others — language, city, situation, origin, profession, passion. You decide for yourself what fits you.

WHO BUILDS PIONRA

Portrait of Jacques AO, Pionra's founder

Jacques AO

Founder

Jacques AO — multi-product entrepreneur based in Paris. Pionra was born from a simple observation: platforms for foreigners in France speak mostly English and don't listen enough to non-European diasporas. I built Pionra in 6 months, solo, with Claude and Codex as my AI co-founders. My ambition: make Pionra the multilingual operating system for foreigners in France.

Pionra is built by Jacques AO, solo at the helm from Paris. The goal is simple: a useful, honest, respectful space for anyone looking for their people — their peers, their answers, their community. No hidden team behind a logo, just one person listening, answering emails, and building in the open.
