A historical guided tour of the former Hospice Gantois, a true gem of Lille's 15th- to 17th-century hospital heritage, is organized by volunteer guides from the Association du Musée Hospitalier Régional de Lille on Tuesdays at 2:30 p.m. (according to a schedule). Online booking is required on Hello Asso. You will receive your named ticket, valid for one person only, by email. You will need to show it to our guide before the tour. Price: €5 / person. Historical background: A bourgeois and alderman of Lille, Jean de Le Cambe dit Gantois had a hospital built in 1460 under the protection of Saint Jean-Baptiste to care for thirteen patients at least sixty years old. In 1995, the work of hosting disadvantaged older people came to a permanent end. Hospice Gantois became a high-end hotel in 2003. It preserves a place of remembrance animated by the Association du Musée Hospitalier Régional de Lille.
