For the European Matrimony and Heritage Days, discover the rich history of the Salle des fêtes de Fives as well as the exhibition “The History of the Prieuré de Fives.”
On July 14, 1928, Roger Salengro, then mayor of Lille, inaugurated a community hall in the Fives neighborhood. Commissioned from architect Marcel Cools, this eclectic building with Art Deco influences brought joy and creativity back to local residents. When Lille was named European Capital of Culture in 2004, a renovation was planned. The venue can now accommodate 800 people for events. From music, live performances, and dance to visual arts, today it hosts events of all kinds for all audiences. The guided tour will be followed by a presentation of the exhibition “The History of the Prieuré de Fives” by the “Mémoires et Patrimoine” association!
