The City of Montpellier is setting up free group dog training sessions starting April 4, 2026. This initiative aims to raise awareness among dog owners about how to guide and train their pet, as well as the behavior to adopt in public spaces, in order to promote harmonious community living and give everyone the chance to benefit from the experience of dog trainers. 48 sessions are scheduled between spring and autumn in the City's dog areas. On the program: learning yes/no, walking on a leash without pulling, recall, canine codes, calming signals, dogs' basic needs, knowing how to "read" a dog, practicing games... Registration form The form must be completed and sent back by email to: [email protected] * Details: maximum 10 participants per session * Please note: Dogs reactive to humans or other dogs are not accepted in group sessions ### Important information You must come to the meeting point with: * Proof of civil liability insurance * The animal's identification card * The animal's vaccination record * And the ownership permit if your animal is in a regulated category These group training sessions are free and organized under the responsibility of a dog trainer. These sessions will also be an opportunity to talk with other enthusiasts. A maximum of 10 dogs is accepted, including no more than 2 dogs per owner.
