The City of Montpellier is launching free group dog training sessions starting April 4, 2026. This initiative aims to raise awareness among dog owners about how to manage and educate their pets, as well as the appropriate behavior to adopt in public spaces, thereby promoting harmonious coexistence and allowing everyone to benefit from the expertise of professional dog trainers. A total of 48 sessions will be held between spring and autumn in the city's designated dog areas.
Program highlights: learning "yes/no" commands, loose-leash walking without pulling, recall, canine communication codes, calming signals, understanding dogs' fundamental needs, learning to "read" your dog, play practice, and more...

- Note: Dogs reactive to humans or other dogs are not permitted in group sessions
Important Information
You must arrive at the meeting point with the following documents:
- Proof of third-party liability insurance
- Animal identification card
- Vaccination record for the animal
- Ownership permit if your dog is a categorized breed
These group training sessions are free and organized under the supervision of a certified dog trainer.
These sessions also provide an opportunity to connect with other enthusiasts.
A maximum of 10 dogs is accepted, with no more than 2 dogs per owner.
Note: Dogs reactive to humans or other dogs are not permitted in group sessions. Remember to bring treats and arrive 20 minutes before each session starts.
