The Jardin de la Reine is part of the Jardin des Plantes de Montpellier, the oldest botanical garden in France and one of the first in Europe. Originally an experimental plot for Pierre Richer de Belleval, a pioneer of modern botany, this garden, rich in history, is now a cultural venue and a space for biodiversity education: insects, birds, medicinal and aromatic plants… and now dye plants as well.
