Olivier Mannoni Thursday, June 11 at 7:30 p.m., at La Maison des relations internationales. By welcoming Olivier Mannoni, we are continuing the series of meetings and reflections on language begun in April with the appearance of Tania de Montaigne. This series aims to explore the links between language and politics: language that shapes thought and ideology, language that echoes what is happening in the social world and the political world. In his book Coulée brune. Comment le fascisme inonde notre langue, Olivier Mannoni, concerned about the growing use, in the media and in everyday speech, of expressions and metaphors drawn from Nazi propaganda, sheds light on the evolution of political language in the Western world. The evening will conclude with drinks and a book sale in partnership with the bookshop Le Grain des mots. L’échappée. Olivier Mannoni: “Fascism begins with language”
