With the “Romantic Breaths” concert, the Festival de Clarinette de Montpellier invites you to discover the mellow tones of the clarinet and bassoon and the graceful touches of the piano, in a musical world full of nostalgia and refinement. Gilbert Audin, former principal bassoon of the Opéra National de Paris and an international ambassador for the instrument, will perform alongside the kindred clarinet of Andrea Fallico and the piano of Anne-Claire Lantenois-Hochart. The program will highlight the smoothness of the bassoon’s tone, as well as its particularly harmonious blend with the clarinet, in an entirely Romantic program. On the program: L. van Beethoven - Duo No. 3 (clarinet and bassoon) R. Schumann - Six Pieces in Canon Form (piano, clarinet and bassoon) R. Schumann - Three Romances, Op. 94 (clarinet and piano) P.I. Tchaikovsky - Lensky’s Aria from the opera Eugene Onegin (bassoon and piano). Glinka - Trio Pathétique (piano, clarinet and bassoon) ARTISTS: Gilbert Audin (bassoon) Andrea Fallico (clarinet) Anne-Claire Lantenois-Hochart (piano)
