Screening as part of the « Horizons Partagés *** » Film Festival, held from June 12 to 13 at the Centre Rabelais. « Tout ce que j’sais faire », by Hector Humblot Short film / 22 minutes / France, 2025 / Produced by Duel Production and Marnie Production / Supported by the Fonds d’Aide à la Création ICC 2024 Nearly 40, Coltrane still dreams of becoming a rapper. He is devastated when Haydin, his longtime duo partner, tells him he is going to quit rap. But when the chance comes to rap in front of his idol, Oxmo Puccino, he tries to bring his sidekick along for one last concert. For this premiere screening, the short film « Finir au soleil » by Ephrem Koering will also be shown. A discussion with the two directors, dedicated to emerging young creators, will follow. Hector Humblot is a 34-year-old filmmaker with a master’s degree in directing from the Institut des Arts de Diffusion (IAD) in Belgium. Working as an assistant director, he began developing his own perspective through documentary portraits of hip-hop artists and music videos. A former rapper, his camera naturally turned toward figures from the independent scene, far from the spotlight. “Tout ce que j’sais faire”, his first fiction short film, continues this approach: a film born from an encounter with the rapper Demi-Portion, who inspired him to tell the stories of these lives shaped by passion, doubt, and creating in the shadows. His style blends raw realism with understated poetry, staying close to emotions and personal journeys. This documentary, produced by Duel Production and Marnie Production, is supported by the Fonds d'Aide à la Création ICC of Montpellier Méditerranée Métropole. Launched in 2022, the fund aims to encourage emerging talent and support the local image industry. ***The Festival « Horizons partagés https://www.horizonspartages.org » offers two days of films in competition, masterclasses, and workshops dedicated to emerging young filmmakers. Around the theme “Inclusive cinema, living together through cinema”, a masterclass will bring together directors Patric Jean and Rebecca Gallon as well as casting director Marion Stamegna. It will be moderated by journalist Florence Amalou on June 12 from 6:30 p.m. at the Centre Rabelais.
