🎬 MONTPELLIER INDEPENDENT FILM FESTIVAL (MTPIFF) – 1st EDITION The Montpellier Independent Film Festival (MTPIFF) is a new hybrid film festival dedicated to promoting and showcasing regional, national and international independent cinema. Organized by the association The Magic Films, the festival aims to spotlight bold, creative and independent works, while encouraging encounters between filmmakers, industry professionals and the public. For this first edition, MTPIFF will offer two days of screenings, discussions and cinematic discoveries in the heart of Montpellier. 📅 PROGRAM Thursday, July 2, 2026 (7 p.m.-11 p.m.) 📍 Cinéma Utopia Montpellier Opening night of the festival with an inaugural speech, the screening of a feature film selected in competition, and a friendly aperitif giving guests, partners, directors and viewers a chance to talk in a warm atmosphere. Friday, July 3, 2026 (10 a.m.-9 p.m.) 📍 Centre Rabelais (former Pathé Montpellier) A day entirely dedicated to independent cinema, with screenings of the finalist films selected by the festival: • Very short films • Student films • Short films • Feature films The public will also be able to attend a professional masterclass on the current challenges of independent audiovisual creation and eco-socio-production in cinema.
