À propos

The Festival Radio France Occitanie Montpellier returns from July 5 to 18, 2026! Since 1985, every July, the Festival Radio France Occitanie Montpellier has been one of the major events in French cultural and musical life. Many prestigious artists have performed there, from Yehudi Menuhin to Michel Petrucciani, from Claudio Abbado to Dee Dee Bridgewater, Mstilav Rostropovitch… alongside “young soloists” who later became renowned: Fazil Say, Hélène Grimaud… Now directed by Michel Orier, director of music and creation at Radio France, the festival project has been reimagined, inheriting a tradition of excellence that it intends to continue and expand: through its ties with Radio France’s major ensembles (Orchestre National de France, Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France, Choeur et Maîtrise), and the special support of France Musique and France Culture; through its collaborations with local cultural players: Orchestre National de Montpellier, Orchestre National du Capitole de Toulouse), its Réseau des médiathèques, the Musée Fabre and the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional. The festival is committed to openness and musical diversity, with a focus on youth, transmission and the future. It strongly reaffirms its place as one of the essential stops on the summer’s cultural and musical journey, alongside Aix-en-Provence, Avignon and Orange. It is investing more deeply in Montpellier, its historic heart, thus reaffirming a unity of time and place to be more in tune with the life of the city and build meaningful partnerships. Promoting the festival and its 100 events of very high musical quality, accessible to as many people as possible, also means promoting Montpellier as a destination, a city of art and culture, 10 km from the sea. 100 events and 30 free concerts Highlights include: Monday, July 6 ● 8 p.m. - Le Corum - Opéra Berlioz IVÁN FISCHER & RENAUD CAPUÇON Wednesday, July 8 ● 8 p.m. Opéra Comédie DIDO AND AENEAS OPERA IN THREE ACTS Wednesday, July 8 ● 9 p.m. Domaine d'O - Amphithéâtre d'O CHARLES LLOYD QUARTET Thursday, July 9 ● 8 p.m. Opéra Comédie FROM MENDELSSOHN TO LENNON BY BERTRAND CHAMAYOU Saturday, July 11 - 6 p.m. - Opéra Berlioz - Le Corum In an exclusive preview, an essential opera already on sale: Wagner’s Tristan and Isolde (concert version): the score that, according to Wagner himself, could only drive mad those who dared to hear it!
