To mark the European Heritage Days, your Orchestra invites you on a musical journey where tradition meets creativity. Conducted by Eduardo Strausser, this Brazilian conductor and music director of the Norrlandsoperan Symphony Orchestra in Sweden has already worked with prestigious ensembles, including the Orchestre national Montpellier Occitanie. The concert opens with Lumina by Nina Shekhar, an American composer born in 1995 who explores the contrasts between light and darkness, brilliant timbres and opaque textures—a tribute to light. Next comes the young South Korean prodigy Sarang Seohyun Kim, who, at 14, became the youngest-ever winner of the Tibor Varga International Competition. She performs Mozart’s Violin Concerto No. 3, a luminous work of radiant classicism. Finally, Prokofiev’s Symphony No. 7 (1952) offers a farewell imbued with gentle melancholy, in which the Russian composer tenderly revisits classical forms. From Mozart to the present day, this program celebrates musical heritage in all its diversity.
