Set off for a full day immersed in maritime culture, with the oyster farms of the étang de Thau and the fish auction at the Agde fishing port. We’ll discover the expertise of oyster farmers and fishers in an authentic atmosphere. We offer departure from Montpellier in a comfortable, air-conditioned minibus, with a small group of no more than 8 people. PROGRAM - 1-hour boat trip on the étang de Thau departing from Bouzigues, a pretty, peaceful village. We’ll get close to the oyster and mussel farms to understand how they are produced. - After this appetizer, we’ll go and taste seafood freshly harvested from the lagoon at a producer’s restaurant, for a timeless moment with a magnificent view. - We’ll then get back on the road to Agde, where we’ll be welcomed by local fishers in the heart of the fish auction. You’ll be able to watch the day’s catch being unloaded and discover how auction purchasing works for professionals, fishmongers, and restaurateurs. We’ll even enjoy a small tasting of the products caught.
