À propos

Célie Falières roams the Mellinet barracks and recycling centers in search of materials — bud, gorse, datura, brick, copper. Driven by the transformation of her belly, she creates from the depths of her guts eyelashes, skin, organs. In response, she shapes the earth, fired in a wood oven, to form lungs and pancreas. The artist explores the thresholds of material transformation: when plants go up in smoke and leave their traces on glass, when soot mixes with enamel, when the onion both rots and sprouts. Bulb Threshold Smoke presents itself as a small sacred edifice dedicated to the deities of the hearth. The exhibition follows an artistic residency supported by the Factotum workshops: Émaux Métaux? Maître d’art and Arcam Glass, a training in metal enameling via Afdas, and a wood firing conducted at the Maison du Potier du Fuilet. Around the exhibition: Opening on May 6 at 6 PM, at the Petites Écuries Discussion with Célie Falières, on May 5 at 6:30 PM, at the École des Beaux-Arts Nantes Saint-Nazaire Célie Falières roams the Mellinet barracks and recycling centers in search of materials — bud, gorse, datura, brick, copper.
