This year, let us come together to celebrate two highlights of our heritage: the Dedition and Saint-Pons. At the end of the 14th century, Provence was going through a major political crisis. In 1388, Nice chose to place itself under the protection of the Count of Savoy through the “Dedition.” This event opened a new chapter in its history. The pact was proclaimed at the Abbey of Saint-Pons in the presence of the Bishop of Nice. Program - 6:30 p.m. – Doors open at the Abbey Church of Saint-Pons: Songs from Nice performed by “Les Voix de Nice” - 6:45 p.m. – Entrance procession - Celebration presided over by Father Gil Florini - Reading of the text of the Dedition of the County of Nice to Savoy - 7:45 p.m. – Closing procession: Blessing of the City of Nice with the relics of Saint-Pons - 8:00 p.m. – Reception drink.
