This workshop teaches you how to draw the face, from the bony elements that structure the skull, through the facets that make it up, the subcutaneous muscles arranged across its surface, all the way to a complete drawing of the face. Facial expressions arise from this, but also from the characters’ physical states and emotions.
The content: – A description of the skull, its bony elements, and the fundamental parts that structure the face. – Facial proportions. – The volume of the head: perspective and rotation in space. – The facets that make up the face. – Rendering the face (shadows and light) – From framing to the final drawing. – The muscles of expression and mastication: facial morphology / the function of the muscles involved in expressions. – Facial expressions: basic expressions, intermediate emotions, physical states. – Graphic translation. The workshop takes place over 5 days, and you can choose your dates from the 6 days offered. Materials: – An A3 sketchbook and an A3 cardboard backing or A3 board with clip. – HB, 2B, 8B, or 9B pencils, a blending stump, an eraser, and a reservoir pencil sharpener – Two reservoir brush pens and watercolor-compatible black ink.
