La fabrique documentaire presents the 12th edition of the Ciné-Jardins Festival! Ciné-Jardins offers nine open-air film screenings in public parks, urban farms, and community gardens across northeastern Paris.

Une année difficile / Éric Toledano and Olivier Nakache / 2023 / 1h58 Albert and Bruno are two heavily indebted friends who try to clear their debts by taking part in activities organized by the environmental association Objectif Terre, a parody of Extinction Rebellion. Albert then falls in love with Cactus, the association’s leader. However, gripped by climate anxiety, she refuses to enter a relationship until the world has made progress toward an ecological transition. Located opposite École Du Breuil (the Ville de Paris horticultural school) in the bois de Vincennes, the Arboretum de Paris is a 12-hectare site containing more than 1,200 trees representing 650 deciduous and coniferous species from different environments, forming a genuine open-air tree museum. La terre des Vertus / Vincent Lapize / 2025 / 1h32 Nestled among the high-rises, the Jardins ouvriers des Vertus are a green lung in the heart of Aubervilliers. A place for community life and a protective ecosystem for residents and wildlife, they are caught between construction work for the 2024 Olympic Games and property developers seeking to expand onto their land. Faced with urban predation, a grassroots resistance movement organizes against gentrification and bulldozer-driven development. -- Saturday, August 29: Parc Chapelle Charbon (Paris 18 e ) - Rue du pré - M°12 or T3b: Porte de la Chapelle 1) Two short films made with the Enfants de la Goutte D’Or 2) Sauvages / Claude Barras / 2024 / 1h27 On the island of Borneo, Keria lives with her father in a village near a palm oil plantation. However, the arrival of Oshi, a baby orangutan whose mother was killed by the militia guarding the plantation, along with her cousin Selaï from the Penan tribe, changes her daily life forever. When the three protagonists become lost in the forest, Keria reconnects with her family and discovers the dangers facing the forest and its inhabitants. This documentary follows the history and actions of the organization’s co-founders and leading members, including lawyer Farhana Yamin, as they demand that the British Parliament declare a climate emergency. -- Friday, September 4: Quartier Amandiers (Paris 20 e ) - rue de Tlemcen - M°2 or M°3: Ménilmontant or Père Lachaise Une affaire de principe / Antoine Raimbault / 2024 / 1h35 Followed by a video conversation with José Bové Described by its director as an “office thriller,” the film is adapted from José Bové’s book Hold-up à Bruxelles, les lobbies au cœur de l’Europe, which recounts how he discovered the reasons why European Commissioner for Health John Dalli resigned in 2012.
