For the 23rd Rendez-vous aux jardins, the musée des Plans-Reliefs is offering a free program with special guided tours and a family workshop!
GUIDED TOUR “The gardens of the plans-reliefs” Discover a unique collection of scale models of France’s fortified towns and their surrounding countryside, created between the reigns of Louis XIV and Napoléon III. Among other things, the models depict the vegetation of towns and gardens at a scale of 1/600! There are countless details to discover. - DATES AND TIMES: Saturday, June 6 and Sunday, June 7 at 2:30 p.m., 3:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. - Duration: 45 min - No registration required. Meet on the day at the museum reception desk, on the 4th floor of the cour de l'Hôtel des Invalides (access via the East wing). - Free guided tour with an admission ticket (to be purchased on site the same day or online through the musée de l'Armée ticket office) FAMILY WORKSHOP “Draw the gardens of the plans-reliefs” (ages 6-12) After a visit to the museum, the educator will accompany children to the workshop to create a collective plan-relief, and everyone will leave with their own creation! A fun activity to introduce children to the techniques used to create a scale model and its vegetation: painting, pencils and imagination will all be part of the experience! - DATES AND TIMES: Saturday, June 6 at 11:00 a.m. Duration: 2 hours.
