From July 4 to August 30, 2026, swim in the Seine! The quai de Bercy site offers two swimming areas and a sun deck, free of charge.
What you need to know Access to the swimming site is free. Swimmers must leave the water 30 minutes before the site closes. To find out whether the swimming area is open or closed, check our map. The swimming site is located opposite the Bibliothèque nationale de France (13th arrondissement), on both sides of the passerelle Simone-de-Beauvoir, just below the parc de Bercy (12th arrondissement). It has two swimming areas—35 m x 12.5 m and 67 m x 11 m—enclosed by side barriers. Anyone under the age of 14 must be accompanied by an adult. Each adult may accompany no more than three children under 14. Bercy is the largest swimming site in the Seine and can accommodate 600 people. Wearing a flotation buoy is mandatory; one will be provided and must be returned in good condition. Entry into the water is supervised by rescue and lifeguard staff, who check that these two requirements are met. At least five lifeguards will be on duty. Changing rooms, secure lockers, showers—which must be used before swimming—restrooms, a first-aid station, and areas for sitting and enjoying the sun are available. The Bercy site is open every day as long as safety conditions are met: moderate currents, water quality tested daily by the Ville de Paris, and favorable weather. If the sites are closed unexpectedly, visitors will be informed on arrival or via the dedicated page on the Ville de Paris website.
