The premiere of Beethoven’s Third Symphony marked a new era in music history.
The premiere of Beethoven’s Third Symphony marked a new era in music history. In it, the composer unleashes an unprecedented power, guided by the idea of a hero facing the challenges of existence. Named “Heroic” by Beethoven himself, this powerful work blends grand, radiant outbursts with moments of tenderness, tracing the journey of a being in struggle, between triumph and introspection. While Beethoven’s Symphony No. 3 is an epic and monumental journey, Poulenc’s Aubade is a lively, joyful breath of fresh air. Composed in 1929 for a ballet, this work, animated by dancing rhythms, evokes both the lightness and the ardor of daybreak. This concert offers you the unique opportunity to rediscover Aubade as it was originally conceived, accompanied by dancers from the compagnie Musagète, restoring all of Poulenc’s vitality and momentum. It will come to life at the piano under the fingers of Jean-Paul Gasparian. Finally, a final touch of mystery, an Invitation au voyage, will bring the concert to a close. This previously unheard work, full of surprise and fascination, will carry you to where imagination takes precedence over reality, in a whirlwind of emotions and sounds that will once again captivate your mind.
