Make the most of the summer 2026 holidays to discover the relief-map collection as a family: a storytelling tour for the youngest children, tour-workshops, and model-building for older children!
Registration: via the form on the website Price: 7 euros per child, one accompanying adult free. Payment on site. Monday, July 6, 11 a.m.: "Apprentice Strategists" workshop (ages 8-14) Come take part in one of the first major battles of the young captain Napoléon Bonaparte, by reliving the siege of Toulon in 1793. All of this takes place in front of the city's relief map, then in the workshop, around a large map. Children will step into the shoes of the republican army, led by Bonaparte, to free the city of Toulon through a strategy game. Wednesday, July 8, 11 a.m.: storytelling tour “Fables and Models for the King!” (ages 3-6) Children set off to discover relief maps and how they were made through the Fables de La Fontaine, created - like the models - during the time of Louis XIV. Then it is off to the workshop for a creative family activity so everyone can bring a small souvenir home. Monday, August 24, 11 a.m.: “Metal Maps” workshop (ages 6-12) Children will make a small embossed metal map, in gold or silver, inspired by the model of the famous Mont Saint-Michel discovered in the museum just beforehand and made at the end of the 17th century. Froger Wednesday, August 26, 11 a.m.: “My City as a Relief Map” workshop (ages 6-12) Children will discover model-making techniques in the museum, then head to the workshop to create a giant collective relief map, with everyone taking home their own creation.
