The theater series Eight Kings (Our Presidents) portrays the eight presidents of the Fifth Republic. After presenting the episodes on J. Chirac, F. Mitterrand and V. Giscard d’Estaing at T13 in June 2024, Léo Cohen-Paperman returns with SarkHollande (identity comedy).
In “N. Sarkozy’s Stand-Up,” the former President steps onto the stage of a comedy club and revisits the key moments of his five-year term (the kärcher, the identity-driven campaign, the economic crisis, the meeting with Carla Bruni). As he tries at all costs to stay on stage, he is driven off by the audience. Then “F. Hollande’s Clown” enters. Newly elected, he has a deep desire to improve people’s lives, but he always fails. And then there is Leïla Merabet, who tells the epic, intimate, and comic story of her impossible quest for true Love. With Leïla, Nicolas, and François, SarkHollande paints a portrait of France from 2007 to 2017 and of its political and identity upheavals.
