“Have you come here to complete a task, or to run away from one?” That is what the witch Baba Yaga asks little Anushka, who has become lost in the forest while looking for her little bird. In exchange for her good behavior, Baba Yaga promises to answer three of her questions: Why does her house have chicken legs? Why does she live all alone in the forest? Where is her little bird? Baba Yaga is without a doubt the best-known figure in Slavic folklore, although she is usually only a secondary character who either helps or throws obstacles in the way of the main protagonist. But never the heroine of her own story. Well, that injustice changes today, in this tale! This show is part of our repertoire of world tales in shadow theater. An invitation to explore the richness of traditional stories and legends that have traveled through the ages. Through delicately cut silhouettes projected onto a large screen, each tale comes to life, carrying children and adults alike on imaginary journeys into the heart of varied cultures.
