Its first movement opens with one of the best-known themes in classical music. It was Mozart’s final serenade. Antonio Vivaldi’s Four Seasons is a set of four violin concertos composed in 1723. It is undoubtedly Vivaldi’s best-known composition and the most frequently performed musical work in the world. It is a violin concerto in which the soloist performs with a chamber orchestra. Each section has a distinct character and evokes the season it represents. For example, winter features pizzicato notes on the upper strings, suggesting freezing rain, while summer evokes a storm in the final movement, foreshadowed by repeated rumbles of thunder earlier in the piece. Dynamic and eclectic, Orchestre Hélios has established itself since its creation in 2014. Its artistic director, Paul Savalle, helps young musicians launch their professional careers through orchestral experience. Recent graduates therefore perform alongside orchestral musicians, conductors, and experienced soloists under optimal working conditions. All are graduates of leading French conservatories, and some are members of national orchestras. From string quartets and brass ensembles to a full symphony orchestra, the orchestra continually expands its audience by adapting its line-up.
