A poetry writing workshop on the theme of sewing and creating a bound notebook as part of the focus on clothing in libraries: from every angle.
Etymologically, the word text comes from the Latin textus, woven, fabric, from textere, to weave... The workshop will take place in two parts: A poetry writing workshop: Participants will write poems and short texts that they will cut directly from the fabric of existing books, arranging them into texts to paste onto sheets of paper. A bookbinding workshop: Participants will learn the traditional technique of Japanese binding while making their own unique notebook. Japanese binding is an ancient art that combines precision and elegance. This traditional technique makes it possible to create beautiful notebooks, sketchbooks, or albums by hand, while following craftsmanship passed down over centuries.
