La Maison de l’animal welcomes you from June 1 to 6, 2026, under the theme 'Preventing Abandonment and Animal Cruelty'.
Open one week per month, La Maison de l'animal en ville Jane Goodall, located in the Chai de Bercy (12th arrondissement), welcomes all animal lovers. It features a temporary exhibition on the month's theme, an information desk, a library, and various activities for all ages. On the program: The Sentience exhibition by the Projet Méduses collective: this scientific exhibition explores the notion of 'sentience' at the intersection of biology, linguistics, ethology, and philosophy. Alongside this exhibition, multiple resources on abandonment and animal cruelty, particularly the results of the SPA survey on reasons for abandonment. For children: Wednesday, June 3: Animal stories for young and old ears, an afternoon dedicated to reading fairy tales, hosted by the Hélène Berr media library (free entry). Saturday, June 6: Introduction for children to first aid techniques for dogs and cats (2 workshops, registration required). For everyone: Saturday, June 6: 'Hypertypes in dogs and cats: Enough is enough!', a conference by the Animal Cross association to understand why certain physical traits can harm animal welfare and to consider solutions (registration strongly recommended). Saturday, June 6: Workshops introducing cooperative care training for dogs and cats (also known as 'medical training') (2 workshops, registration required). And always… - Solidarity veterinary consultations, organized by the Vétérinaires Pour Tous association, on Thursday afternoons only by appointment (subject to income conditions). - Reading and games corner: a thematic library and board games for young and old are freely accessible throughout the week. Hot drinks available self-service. - A donation box for the Gamelles Pleines association is at your disposal: you can deposit dog and cat food, toys, leashes, collars, clothing, throws, etc. Your pet is, of course, welcome at La Maison de l’animal en ville Jane Goodall!
