The Fabrique de la Solidarité is hosting Karen Assayag's “What Remains Deep Within Me” exhibition in spring 2026.
What Remains Deep Within Me is a photography exhibition by Karen Assayag, resulting from a project carried out with women experiencing extreme hardship who are supported by the association Le Filon. Through workshops combining photography, writing, and collaborative creation, the artist worked with around fifteen women, enabling them to see their daily lives and personal journeys from a different perspective. The exhibition brings together portraits, photographs taken by the participants themselves, and fragments of personal stories, revealing lives marked by violence, exile, or exclusion, but also by resilience, dignity, and hope. Moving away from portrayals that reduce people to their suffering, this work highlights these women's inner strength and invites the public to reconsider how they view extreme hardship. Winner of the 2022 Prix Caritas de la Photographie Sociale, the series has been presented at several venues and festivals across France. Karen Assayag Association Le Filon
