Salsa Meets Jazz brings together American saxophonist and flutist Oliver Griffith and French jazz piano virtuoso Patrice Galas, alongside leading Venezuelan musicians: Xavier Padilla on bass and Rafael Mejias on percussion. Inspired by major Latin American figures such as Eddie Palmieri, Mongo Santamaria and Poncho Sanchez, they offer a journey through the music of Latin America: from salsa, samba and bossa nova to calypypso, mambo and tango, as well as Latin versions of great jazz standards. With decades of experience on stages around the world, they have collaborated with artists such as Gipsy Kings, The Supremes, Manu Dibango, Celia Cruz, Dizzy Gillespie, Franco de Vita, Arielle Dombasle, and Richard Galliano.
