In Search(es) of Love - A History of Romantic Relationships, 18th-21st Centuries - Season 2: Conjugal Love(s)?
The Archives de Paris and the Comité d'histoire de la Ville de Paris are continuing their investigation into the history of romantic relationships for a second season, whether official or secret, celebrated or monitored. After looking last autumn at the ways romantic encounters take place, the conferences scheduled from January to June will explore forms of conjugality and focus on couples' lives both in private and in society. The recent research presented will offer fresh perspectives on the history of social relations, the history of emotions, and the history of sexualities. These lecture series are led by historians, researchers, and writers, and highlight a wide variety of sources. These free events, open to all, are an opportunity to introduce a broad audience to some of the collections held at the Archives de Paris and to notable aspects of Parisian history.
Price: Free conferences, no prior registration required, subject to the limit of 90 available seats.
