"A man restrains himself": A story of origins.
In search of a father he never knew, Albert Camus returns to Algérie, as the country is torn apart by terrible violence, and questions his mother, his old schoolteacher, and a settler. His quest for his origins then expands to encompass his own Algerian identity. Camus's nuanced position on Algérie is a lesson in humanity that we need to hear now more than ever.
