À propos

Meet and talk about the favorites of Jonathan Reith, a graphic novel, manga, and comics enthusiast, in LSF/FR.

As part of the M ois Parisien du Handicap, Jonathan Reith, a Deaf signer, will passionately introduce you to a selection of graphic novels, manga, and comics from which you can make your choice. In an interactive format, you will talk, debate, and above all enthusiastically discover plenty of new ideas with him. Admission is free with reservation. Open to Deaf and hearing teenagers and adults. LSF / French interpreters will be present at this event. The meeting will take place on the 4th floor. Jonathan Reith introduces himself: "I grew up surrounded by all kinds of books. A book is always with me, wherever I am. With this passion, I developed a dream: to work in a bookstore. Being Deaf in sales professions is still not very well regarded. Yet I managed to become a full-time bookseller. This job allows me to share my favorites with customers and, above all, to make this culture accessible to the Deaf public and inspire them to read. It is also an opportunity to work more closely with publishers. To reach more Deaf people, thanks to the digital age, I started reviewing graphic novels, manga, and comics on Instagram. My videos are first 100% in LSF, then subtitled to also reach hearing audiences, authors, and publishers. My other dream is to raise awareness among authors and publishers that Deaf people are graphic novel readers. I hope this will help plant the idea of including Deaf characters in their works. I would be happy to come and share my enthusiasm with you and discuss these topics."
