The Lady Downstairs from My Place follows a character who sets out to speak of others: the neighbors, familiar figures, nearby lives.
Through this almost naive gaze, an ordinary human landscape takes shape. But as the words unfold, the narrator is revealed in turn, until he disappears into what he observes, becoming, too, simply a neighbor.
