A light, sparkling stage adaptation of a hit operetta by André Barde and Maurice Yvain.
Paris, 1925. The beautiful Gilberte Valandray is courted by every man around her, from the young avant-garde artist Charley to the confirmed bachelor Faradel. Yet she loves her husband Georges and remains faithful to him, even if she sometimes finds him lacking in passion. A wealthy, self-assured industrialist, Georges is convinced that, having been his wife’s first lover, he has secured her loyalty forever. What he does not know is that Gilberte was already married for six months to Éric Thomson, a wealthy American with whom he is just about to sign a contract. When Éric sees Gilberte again, old feelings resurface. Around them revolve the suffragette sister Gabrielle, the young Huguette, and a gallery of colorful characters. Amid flirtations, misunderstandings, and absurd theories about marriage, the comedy spins out of control… but not on the mouth!
