A lecture by Eloïse Le Bozec connected with the Crafts collection at the Violette Leduc media library.

Charles Frederick Worth, Jacques Doucet, Paul Poiret… The role of these major figures in fashion needs no introduction, but what about the first women “great couturiers”? This lecture invites you to delve into the history of the women, some still little known to the general public, who played a major part in establishing haute couture’s prestige, from Jeanne Paquin to Gabrielle Chanel, along with Jeanne Lanvin, Louise Chéruit, the Callot sisters, and the essential Madeleine Vionnet. Eloïse Le Bozec is a lecturer and art historian specializing in the 19th and 20th centuries. Since January 2026, she has been leading the art history lecture series at the Violette Leduc media library. Free with reservation: [email protected] or 01 55 25 80 20. Reservations open from May 13.
