With artists Delphine Huard and Armelle Antier, dive into Leonora Carrington's universe by creating your own surrealist-inspired work
The artists Armelle Antier and Petite Nature Paris invite you to dive into Leonora Carrington's universe through a creative workshop using cutting, collage, and image-assembly techniques to create your own surrealist-inspired work. This event is part of the Leonora Carrington exhibition, on view at the Musée du Luxembourg until July 19. This retrospective is the first in France devoted solely to the work of this multifaceted artist, both a painter and a writer. Carrington was fully involved in the Surrealist movement, particularly during her stay in France. This partnership with the Musée may well have a few surprises in store for you on the day of the workshop… Armelle Antier is interested in issues related to spatial planning and works with urban planning and architecture agencies. She develops creative work that is always connected to a place, rooted in a territory. The illustrator wants the works she produces to reveal the environments we live in: urban spaces, buildings, interiors. Recently, she has been developing pen-and-India-ink drawing in particular, as well as watercolor. Petite Nature Paris (Delphine Huard) has worked in several animation studios. Tired of computer-based work, she trained in printmaking techniques at the Beaux-Arts workshops of the Ville de Paris. Nature is her main source of inspiration. Through engraving, she seeks to inscribe her memories into the material, to transform loss into creation. She recomposes scenes where encroaching vegetation becomes a refuge, an embrace, a protective setting against oblivion. The Musée du Luxembourg will also offer a talk at the library about the exhibition "Leonora - Ville de Paris
