Have you ever noticed the embroidery on traditional Breton costumes? Jackets, skirts, aprons, and headdresses are embroidered without a hoop: that is the distinctive feature of Breton embroidery, especially well suited to clothing. If this technique and its history interest you, the bibliothèque des Batignolles is offering an introductory workshop led by Hélène Sauteron, trained at the Ecole de Broderie d’Art in Quimper.
