The médiathèque Edmond Rostand is offering a writing workshop during the special program: Sous toutes les coutures, a focus on clothing in libraries! taking place from May 16 to July 31, 2026

Le Veston ensorcelé, Le Soulier de satin, Le Diable s’habille en Prada… Literature is full of references to clothing. Garments can be seen as a true metaphor for writing. The author becomes a weaver: adjusting the weave, hiding the seams, working the text(ile). In this writing workshop, participants will be invited to weave stories, disguise characters, and cut into dialogue. Sobriety or exuberance, elegance or bad taste, it will all be a question of style. We propose drawing on a selection of photographs from works in the photo collection of the Ville de Paris libraries, housed in the médiathèque and comprising more than 3,500 titles. The workshop will take place over two sessions, and participants commit to attending both. Facilitator presentation: Julien Thibedore is a teacher of modern literature. Passionate about literature, theater, and cinema, he enjoys studying the art of storytelling in all its forms. For several years, he has led writing workshops on short stories and screenplays at Celsa – Sorbonne Université.
