Jazz, compositions — Hillai Govreen is a New York-based clarinetist, saxophonist, and composer whose work bridges jazz tradition and contemporary forms of expression.
Her latest album, “Every Other Now” (Fresh Sound, 2025), offers a dynamic snapshot of New York’s music scene, highlighting her distinctive voice as a performer, composer, and bandleader. Her music moves fluidly between structure and spontaneity, intimacy and abstraction, weaving modern textures into a deeply rooted jazz language. For this evening, the repertoire will blend finely reimagined jazz standards with original compositions. She will be joined by well-known figures: Shimon Gamburg on double bass, Simon Chivallon on piano, and Jesus Vega on drums.
