O.R.B (10:30 PM) (Heavy psych - Geelong, AUS) ORB is a heavy-psych trio from Geelong, Australia, blending doom riffs, saturated proto-metal and cosmic groove. Made up of Zak Olsen, Daff Gravolin and John Zacharias, the band has grown from informal jam sessions into one of Australia’s most striking underground psychedelic rock bands. On stage, ORB comes across as a powerful, raw and improvised trio: loud, hypnotic and heavy, with no pretension. After the prologue recounting the genesis of the ship and the crew’s union, Cosmic Matters marks the first takeoff: the Butterfly Bulldozer leaves the orbit of a declining planet to plunge into the vast unknown. Released on MOSTÄ and Howlin’ Banana Records, this second EP asserts a more clearly defined art rock identity, where space psychedelia collides with post-punk urgency. The grooves grow sharper, the textures denser, shifting between krautrock drift, noise explosions and hallucinated choruses. While the shadow of Squid and Pond still lingers, Butterfly Bulldozer is now charting its own course, freer and resolutely looking ahead. This chapter tells the story of the crossing: weightlessness, breakdowns, visions, and the inner struggle of a crew launched into the void, fleeing a world on its last legs to reach Mars Il.
