POSITIVIST WALK IN THE LATIN QUARTER following in the footsteps of Auguste Comte 5:30 PM MEETING POINT: Place de la Sorbonne (Statue of Auguste Comte) Auguste Comte closely linked his life and work to Paris. What better place than the statue of Auguste Comte and the Latin Quarter to evoke the founder of positivism's relationship with our capital? From his "arrival" in Paris to attend the École polytechnique, to the "sacred home" at 10, rue Monsieur-le-Prince in the heart of the Latin Quarter, he never ceased to see Paris as the center of his world and the city to which he was fully integrated. His disciples and admirers, like the researchers who later dedicated their work to him, all aimed to build, preserve, and maintain a rich Parisian heritage, the seat of a unique philosophical and political thought that marked his era and whose memory still lingers today. By David Labreure (director of the museum and archives "La Maison d'Auguste Comte") and Michel Blanc (President of the BAI, former lecturer in sociology, University of Nanterre) Registration required: [email protected] or by phone: 01 43 26 08 56 The visit will be followed by a friendly gathering at the Maison d'Auguste Comte at 7 PM to celebrate the opening of the exhibition "Comte: Life on rue Monsieur-le-Prince".
