Electric jazz — “Spoiler” is a bit like “Myspace in real life.” by saxophonist Adrien Sanchez. Between fantasy and reality, it is an electrifying space with no aesthetic limits, where trance and twists, soundscapes and epic solos all come together.
Maxime Sanchez began playing piano at age 4 in SEOUL (in Corée du sud). He discovered jazz in the Toulouse region and enrolled at the collège de Marciac (with adjusted schedules). In 2006, he moved to Paris and two years later joined the jazz class at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris (CNSMDP). In Paris, he broadened his musical experiences. Among the standout projects in his career as a sideman are his work with François Jeanneau at Pandemonium, Magik Malik’s group “Jazz Association,” Belgian saxophonist Toine Thys’s group “Orlando,” and his work alongside David Enhco (Keyston Big Band, quartet with Maitrises, etc.). And his heartfelt projects as leader or co-leader: FLASH PIG, KEPLER, and his new trio “Standards.” In 2018, Maxime made his mark on the jazz world by becoming one of the very few European musicians to place in the renowned Thelonious Monk Competition, where he finished third.
