For this edition of Nuit Blanche, dedicated to Love, Villa D invites Yoan Sorin to reinterpret the exhibition space he inhabits alongside Flora Moscovici (from May 29 to July 24, 2026). While his visual work, installations and sculptures, arises from an instinctive, immediate gesture, Yoan Sorin’s performances, by contrast, cultivate slowness and stretched-out time. At Villa D, the artist transforms the exhibition setting into a living field of experimentation, where painting steps out of its frame to become a gesture, a body in motion, a physical presence. Between ingenious DIY and the aesthetics of the mask, this improvised wandering activates volumes and surfaces in a balance as unstable as it is fascinating. For Nuit Blanche, the exhibition becomes a stage. The place of display turns into a space for play, crossed by a body moving slowly, almost lazily. Painting leaves the canvas to inhabit the physical space: volumes, surfaces, and colors come alive as Yoan Sorin passes through, like a fresco in motion, an uncertain choreography that does not try to convince. A raw, carnivalesque performance where one hesitates, with delight, between declaring a burning passion… or simply giving in to idleness.
