“For the love of art. The expression is worn out, almost ironic — and that is precisely where its interest lies. It carries within it an ambivalence that Le Houloc embraces: that of a collective choosing to make, despite everything. What wouldn’t one do? Move ten years of thought and creation, set off as thirty-three people on an adventure with no safety net, put one’s work on hold so everyone can find their place. This exhibition does not seek to celebrate solitary geniuses — it tells the story of the group, the crew. A shared interior where people compose with many hearts. The material conditions of creation are not incidental: here, they are the supports. Something reveals itself as the night goes on — not in the glare of a spotlight, but in the patient accumulation of gestures, presences, and fatigue. It is at the edges that collectives have always invented new archipelagos. The love of art is no longer a romantic stance. The studios of the 33 artists will be open throughout the evening, giving the public direct access to workspaces and ongoing practices. A group exhibition, conceived by the curatorial duo Nous sommes au regret, will unfold in the exhibition room. Performances and readings will punctuate the evening, leaving room for encounters and the unexpected.
