The Hypnotiks, one of Paris’s best soul/funk bands, returns to the stage in full force at Son de la Terre. This seasoned old-school collective offers a unique blend of “downtown soul” and “uptown funk.” To welcome summer, The Hypnotiks have chosen to pay tribute to California soul. For this exceptional evening, the band invites Indy Eka and Gabe Zinq — two friends of the group — to celebrate the soul tradition of this “West Coast” state. California is certainly best known for the “Flower Power” years, but it also has a long soul and funk tradition, with artists such as Sly and the Family Stone, Tower of Power and, more recently, Anderson .Paak.
