What if the Saxophone and Saxhorn had been invented for women? Come experience a funny and poetic immersive adventure blending theater and live music.
On stage, four artists - One actor, three female musicians - accompanied by 8 instruments of all sizes: saxophones, saxhorn and tuba. In a historical reenactment, they tell you a story about Adolphe Sax, the brilliant Belgian inventor of musical instruments, and his efforts to support female musicians in 19th-century Paris, home to his famous workshop on rue Saint Georges in the 9th arrondissement. Then they will take you on a journey around the world to discover different cultures and female performers. The three instrumentalists will perform famous works from the historical repertoire and by women composers past and present. Classical, popular and jazz pieces composed by Wagner, Berlioz, Debussy, Ravel, Decruck, Bonacina … An inspiring, surprising, moving and entertaining family show that challenges our preconceived ideas. From July 15 to August 27 Wednesdays and Thursdays at 7pm or 9pm depending on the week.
