Combustions draws us into the secret intimacy of love letters written by artists to their lovers.
On stage, six actors perform these words, bearing witness to the hurricane of emotion. Joined by two multi-instrumentalist musicians, they punctuate each letter with a popular song that tenderly pokes fun at the volcanic nature of this literature. Because human beings are made this way: mad, they invented love in order to burn themselves and sing of passion, pain, and joy. Lovers of love we are and always will be. And what we feel - one person’s passion for another - that wonderful irrational power human beings are capable of, the machine, Artificial Intelligence, will always be denied!
