Part walk, part reflection, this philosophy hike invites you to step back in time in the footsteps of Mme d’Épinay and her illustrious contemporaries. From Épinay-sur-Seine to Deuil-la-Barre, explore the libertine spirit of the Enlightenment through a route combining nature, history, and philosophy, ending with a guided tour of the museum.
On the occasion of a philosophy hike between Épinay-sur-Seine and Deuil-la-Barre, set out to discover Mme d’Épinay, a famous friend of the arts, literature, and philosophy, and explore the places she frequented, including the château de la Chevrette. During the Enlightenment, it was there that she hosted Diderot, Grimm, Madame d’Alembert, and Jean-Jacques Rousseau. One of the remains of this château is now the current Musée Michel Bourlet de Deuil-la-Barre. At the end of your route, you will be invited to discover the museum’s collections through a guided tour.
