Lyric concert for voice, (meta)cello and electronics
Music The duo formed by Élise Dabrowski and Sébastien Béranger celebrates its 10th anniversary in 2025. To mark the occasion, the two artists are developing a new project around madness, fragmentation, and an exuberant, jubilant sonic schizophrenia. Language is broken apart, laid bare, revealed, separated and offered up, scattered through the air and the (electro)acoustic space. Through meticulous decomposition, it finds its purpose and renewal. This “trio for two” — voice, electronics, and (meta)cello — is a celebration of the present moment. Its nature, like that of music in general, is fundamentally ephemeral; its reality lies in performance, in its immediacy, its relationship with the listener and with the concert. It is an experience based on exchange, intersection, experimentation, surprise, and shared pleasure, where each becomes the other’s interpreter. The combination of voice and electronics, from the most insolent noise to the most sublime singing, always means something; it always points to something beyond itself and creates a very broad range of associations: cultural, musical, everyday, emotional, psychological, and more. The duality between instrumental acoustic sound and the acousmatic sound of the computer works in the same way; it opens the sonic spectrum to unheard-of worlds.
