A performance where violin and cello resonate around a monumental print.
Music, monumental installation: Blanches de Nuit is a multidisciplinary performance designed to honor the recently renovated chapelle Saint-Lazare. Le Paradis en Morceaux, a monumental etching by artist Sylvie Abélanet, and its reflection, la Promesse de l'Enfer, a digital work printed on canvas, will be exhibited in the heart of the choir. They depict Eve tempting Adam with the forbidden fruit. This biblical reference resonates with the desacralization of the building in 1960, and with its transformations over the past century. Taking turns, then together, cellist Adèle Théveneau and violinist Camille Théveneau will embody past presences through the sound of their instruments. An immersive suspended moment shaped by works by J.S Bach, G.Bacewicz, P.Vasks, etc., with one guiding thread: the context, the subject, the audience, and the performers.
